Update on Potential U.S.-Canada Tariffs

As you may be aware, discussions continue around the possible introduction of tariffs on goods traded between Canada and the U.S. While originally expected to take effect on February 4, implementation has now been paused for 30 days as negotiations between both governments continue. We remain hopeful for a positive resolution.

While we may not have all the answers yet, please rest assured that we are closely monitoring this situation. Sunrider Canada is actively working with our internal teams and the Direct Sellers Association of Canada, of which we are proud members, to stay engaged in key conversations and advocate for policies that support Canadian businesses like yours.

Sunrider International has relocated to Texas from California

The new manufacturing plant has been built, but the process of moving production is taking more time.

Eric Chen, in a June 2022 Zoom, reassured us that herbs are in stock.  Sunrider is working on producing the nutritional products as quickly as possible, but could not give an estimated time when these will be in stock.

In a statement this week, Sunrider International announced a renewed vision for 2022, and a goal to “carry forward and expand on the Sunrider legacy.”

The company celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and Dr. Tei Fu Chen, Founder of Sunrider International, described the occasion as a moment to feel pride in what has been accomplished, but also in the company’s vision of what is yet to come.

“Anniversaries are a time to celebrate,” Dr. Chen said. “They also offer us a chance to reflect on our past and look forward to the future. Sunrider has officially turned 40 years in 2022, and we certainly have a lot to celebrate.”

A key element in this vision for 2022 is the company’s new 71-acre manufacturing and research and development facility in Midlothian, Texas.

“Right now, I’m thinking a lot more about Sunrider’s future than its past,” said Sunny Beutler, Sunrider CEO and daughter of Drs. Tei-Fu and Oi-Lin Chen.

“I believe we will grow faster in the next 10 years than we ever have before. In the coming years, Sunrider has the opportunity to reach even more people and communities around the world. This digital age has opened so many doors—making what were once dreams now  possibilities.”

Torrance, CA — Sunrider International, a California-based global health & wellness brand, today announced that the company will relocate its manufacturing and R&D operations to the new Sunrider Manufacturing DFW Plant in Midlothian, Texas. The move—expected to begin in 2021—is designed to better serve customers throughout North America and globally, and does not impact the company’s World Headquarters in Torrance, California.

Sunrider plans to build the new, state-of-the-art DFW Plant on a 71-acre property located in the City of Midlothian in Ellis County. Midlothian Mayor Richard Reno said, “The members of our City Council are excited to welcome Sunrider Manufacturing as the first company to construct a facility at the Midlothian Business Park.” Employees at the company’s manufacturing campus in Los Angeles’ Harbor Gateway will be offered a relocation package.

In explaining the relocation of Sunrider’s manufacturing operations, Eric Chen, Vice President of Global Manufacturing, said that “the relocation to Texas and subsequent closure of our facilities in Los Angeles will position Sunrider for sustainable, long-term growth, which will benefit our global network of associates and customers.”

Sunrider will continue to have a strong presence in California as the company’s World Headquarters will remain in Torrance. Founded in 1982 by Drs. Tei-Fu and Oi-Lin Chen, Sunrider International, the family-owned and -operated company is well established in dozens of countries and operates six manufacturing facilities worldwide, as well as approximately 500 retail stores.

Transition Plan for EXISTING IBOs to Preferred Customers Starting June 1, 2017

  1.  Current IBOs can transition to a Preferred Customer from June 1, 2017- May 31, 2018
  2.  No Cost
  3.  Pay the IBO (Wholesale) price.
  4.  Pay the IBO price indefinitely, as long as you purchase $200 every 6 months
  5.  No renewal fee and no autoship necessary

IBOs will need to initiate the transition to Preferred Customers since Sunrider International cannot legally change their status without their consent.

After June 1, 2017 —  You can fill out a form on Sunrider’s website, email, or call the Sunrider office to make the change.
